Covid-19 Update

Dear Koinonia Christian Fellowship Family,

We are open! We’ve been looking forward to this, and we can’t wait to worship together. As we safely and cautiously reopen the church, we are asking all of you to put into practice the principles of Christian love for one another. We realize that in a church of our size, there will be differences of opinion that will cover the entire spectrum of responses to the Covid-19 outbreak. Some folks are being very cautious, while others don’t feel the need to be cautious at all. We ask that all of us would live by the Christian virtues of respect, kindness, and love found in Romans 14. We desire to accommodate all of our family who desire to come and worship with us. This isn’t going to be easy, and it will require that we all deny ourselves and esteem others more highly than ourselves, for that is what we are called to do.

Here is what you can expect as we reopen the church:

• Service times will be normal Morning Worship at 9:00 and 10:30 am.

• There is no Sunday School at this time.

• We will follow the State of New York guidelines for worship centers.

• Our staff will wear masks, and we ask that you wear them into the building at least until you are seated and then wear them when you leave or any other time you are out of your seat.

• Our services will be touchless. We will remind and encourage our church family to practice the social distancing guidelines and to refrain from hugs and handshakes. We know this is difficult, but we ask for your cooperation in this in order to accommodate those who are exercising caution.

• You can also drop your tithe and/or offerings in the baskets in the sanctuary or give here online.  There is a tab on the Home Page of this site on the right side of the page.

• We will have hand sanitizer and facemasks available at stations throughout the church.

• We will be cleaning and wiping down the necessary areas between services.

• We hope to soon be providing children’s ministry and Nursery again soon.

 

If you are not feeling well or just want to keep safe in your home, our online service will be streaming live at 10:30 am on Facebook at Koinonia Christian Fellowship in Jamestown for you to participate with us from home. Our Service Videos can also be found on youtube  at Koinonia Jamestown NY.

Q: When will be able to meet at 100% capacity?
   A: When our leaders give us the thumbs up. Please be praying for all our government leaders that God will give them wisdom during this time.

Q: Will we be able to sing?
   A: We will not discourage anyone from singing praise to God! If you feel uncomfortable sitting where folks are singing, you may change seats to accommodate your preference.

Q: Will there be Kid’s Ministry?

   A: Not at this time.
Q: Will kids be allowed in the sanctuary?

   A: Families with children are welcome during the service. We will provide a simple coloring page and crayons for children to work on during the message if needed and requested.

Q: How can I get prayer or counseling from a pastor?
   A: Our pastors will all be available between and after services for prayer or counsel at the front of the sanctuary. You can make your way to them, just be aware that they will be practicing social distancing as they speak and pray with you.

Q: Do we have to make reservations?
   A: Not at this time.
